A little cat that lives on your desktop.
Kiiri keeps you company while you work, watches your coding agents, and when you ask, looks at your screen and points at the answer.
Plays nicely with the tools you already use
Not another chat window.
A friend on your screen.
Most AI tools want you to come to them. Kiiri sits where you already are, notices what's happening, and helps when you ask.
Know what your agents are up to without switching windows.
Kiiri hooks into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Antigravity. While they work, Kiiri gets busy. When one finishes or needs you, Kiiri tells you.
- One-click hooks, no config files to edit
- Ding and a bubble when an agent needs your input
- Several sessions at once, each with its own state
Ask about anything on your screen. Kiiri looks, answers, and points.
Hold CtrlAlt and talk, or type your question. Kiiri reads the screen, streams the answer into a bubble, and points to the exact spot.
- Push-to-talk, typed questions, or drag a box around a region
- Spoken answers with natural voices, or your system voice offline
- Drop the cat on something to summarize, explain, translate or solve it
It's the green Export button. I've marked it for you.
Make it yours. Then make a few more.
Name it, give it a personality, repaint it in the pixel editor, or bring in community pets in the open petdex format. Run several at once. Each one keeps its own memory.
- Follows your cursor with its eyes and leans toward you
- Pick it up by the scruff and it dangles, then settles where you drop it
- Remembers its work, so it can bring things up later
Small things that add up.
Pomodoro
Focus timers with a cheer from Kiiri when you finish.
Stretch & water
Gentle reminders that respect your focus time.
Chat
A real back-and-forth conversation that streams as it types.
Memory
Each character remembers what it did, and you can edit it.
Makes files
Slides, docs, spreadsheets and CSVs. Approve, save, undo.
Automations
"Every day at 9, look at my screen and tell me what I left unfinished."
Profiles
Local, fast or best quality. Switch with one click.
4 languages
English, Türkçe, 日本語 and 한국어. The cat doesn't mind.
Your agents can drive it, too.
Kiiri ships a local MCP server. Any agent can make it talk, point at the screen, react, or ask it what's on screen. Everything runs locally and needs a token. Secrets and file paths are stripped before anything appears in a bubble.
kiri_say show a bubble and optionally speak itkiri_point point at a spot on the screenkiri_react working, thinking, done, needs-youkiri_ask_screen ask about the screen and get text + coordinateskiri_status what Kiiri is doing right now// Kiiri adds this for you when agent monitoring is on. { "mcpServers": { "kiri": { "command": "…/Kiiri/hooks/kiri-hook-runner.sh", "args": ["kiri-mcp-server.js"] } } } // Then just ask your agent: "When the tests finish, have Kiiri point at the first failure."
Where does your screen go?
Kiiri only looks at your screen when you ask it to. You choose where that picture goes.
Local nowhere
Nothing leaves your computer. Works on a plane with Wi-Fi off.
Your own key direct
Kiiri talks straight to your provider with your key. We never see it. Prefer keys off your laptop? Put them on your own proxy.
Kiiri Cloud not stored
For Plus and Pro. Screenshots pass through memory and are never written to disk or used for training.
No telemetry by default. The whole client is open source, so you can check for yourself.

Questions people ask.
Is Kiiri really free?
Yes. The desktop app is open source under the MIT license, and everything that runs on your machine is free with no time limit. Bring an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or any compatible provider, or run models locally with Ollama. Plus and Pro only add things that cost us money to run: hosted AI, voices and sync.
Is it always watching my screen?
No. Kiiri only captures your screen when you ask: push-to-talk, a typed question, a region you select, or an automation you set up yourself. The cat's eyes following your cursor happens locally and doesn't involve any screenshots.
Which AI models does it use?
Your choice. Claude, GPT and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint work with your own key. Local models work through Ollama. Kiiri Cloud (Plus/Pro) picks a good default for you.
How does it work with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex?
Turn on agent monitoring and Kiiri installs small hooks for the agents you use, so it can react when they start working, finish, or need you. It also registers its MCP server, so the agent can make Kiiri talk, point, or look at your screen.
Can I host the AI part myself?
Yes. kiiri-proxy is a small open-source Cloudflare Worker you deploy to your own account in about two minutes. Your API keys stay there, each device gets its own token, and chat, screen questions and voice all go through it. It's the same proxy core that Kiiri Cloud runs on.
Does it slow my computer down?
Kiiri sits idle in a small transparent window. AI only runs when you ask for something, and the animations pause when nothing is happening.
macOS says the app can't be opened. What do I do?
Signed and notarized builds are on the way. Until then, right-click the app and choose Open the first time. On Windows, choose More info → Run anyway.
Can I make my own character?
Yes. Repaint a character in the built-in pixel editor, or drop a pet in the open petdex format (a pet.json plus one sprite sheet) into ~/.kiri/pets and it shows up in the menu.
Where does the name come from?
Kiri (霧) means mist in Japanese, and (桐) is the paulownia tree, which is where the little leaf on Kiiri's head comes from. The double ii is its face. Say it "kee-ree".
